Leonhard Birnbaum

Leonhard Birnbaum, born on February 19, 1967 in Ludwigshafen, holds a doctorate in chemical engineering and began his professional career as a management consultant at McKinsey. In 2008, he moved to RWE AG and was appointed to the board of directors. In 2013, Leonhard Birnbaum joined the board of directors of E.ON SE and has been CEO since April 2021. Leonhard Birnbaum is Vice President of the Executive Board of the BDEW, Presidential Member of the BDI and President of the Association of European Electricity Industries (Eurelectric) as well as Deputy Chairman of the World Energy Council.
